The end of the end

They say 2012 marks the end of the world, by right it actually just means the end of the Mayan calendar which functions like our calendars, they end at 31st December and starts a new one on 1st of January.. it so happens that the Mayan Calendar ends at 20... or 21 (I forgot the actual day but it's not important) of December 2012... anyway, we are all still alive and the world is still whole... so embrace yourselves..

Looking back at 2012.. I did quite a lot... maybe some part in me did believe the end-of-the-world thingy... so I tried to lessen the use of "next time" and made things happen... and I fulfilled my 2012 New Year resolutions!

Firstly... I celebrated my birthday overseas!! in 2 countries to be exact.. I celebrated the first half in Hong Kong and the rest of the day in Macau with close friends that made great company...
I get to meet Oolongtea, Panpan and Qingqing from SWFC... Really glad to actually have friends everywhere, something I realised this year.. Every country I visited, I have a friend to meet up with...

The weather there was most welcoming, it wasn't too cold, really comfortable... It was not the peak season for traveling so the queue in Disney Land was also bearable... Another dream-come-true experience!!

I also went to Macau, a beautiful place with lots to see but I didn't spend much time there...

I had to use photos that has appeared in my blog before because my Picasa web album is reaching its limit.. Sigh, just when I have photos to share...

Besides Hong Kong and Macau, I also went to a place that I have not plan to go yet... Korea!!!
Met up with an old friend..

And met a few new friends... that really made my life colourful...

A trip that I spontaneously decided to join and even regretted last minute because I was traveling somewhat alone as I didn't really know anybody in the group... I regretted for regretting after I reach the classroom... This was a chance of a lifetime to attend a Korean University, although it was just for 2 weeks but the experience was enough for somebody like me who did not have the chance to enjoy campus life.. for your information, my university was a factory... So stepping in a huge campus like Kyung Hee was really overwhelming...

After that, I decided to go on a spontaneously planned trip again... this time it's a nearby country... Singapore~~ to meet a friend that I have just knew from Korea..

Other than that, I managed to go to the Harry Potter exhibition... another hard-to-come-by opportunity since it was held in Singapore for around 3 months and i coincidentally plan to go there during that period~

Then, another 2 friends from Korea came to visit and we brought them around...
This was taken in Malacca...

And, I did blogged about my Singapore trip and my Macau-HK trip posts are on its way, so i did fulfill my resolution...

 Secondly, I passed Topik!!!!!

오늘은 한국어 능력 시험을 했어요.

I finally had the guts to go register and sit for the exam... Good thing i passed!! the marks were quite good too.. I mentioned it before not going to mention again in case people start getting irritated by my bragging of my Topik results...

Seeing that I have achieved all my resolutions and got more than what I have expected.. I planned to travel once a year and it turned out that I have been to 4 countries this year... Thinking about this really lights up my mood... At least I did stuff that were fulfilling... and my 2012 was one of my most happening year among the years in my life..

I have not thought of anything for next year's resolution yet... I shall leave that for another post..

Till then, I shall sign off~

Tag: My perfect imperfections

It has been quite some time since I have last did a tag... I found this tag when I was browsing videos of a blogger that i really like, her name is Jen, click on the link if you are interested.. have been quite hooked on online celebrities lately.. blogger, youtubers, twitterers... I have always enjoyed doing tags because they don't require much thinking and all you have to do is answer the tag.. your content is already outlined for you.. instead of cracking your head and killing your braincells thinking of something interesting to write about, tags are a great way to keep you blog alive and it will not bore people too much..
unless you do it too often.. it might kinda annoy people, but i don't mind.. so if you don't care, just do more tags in blog posts.. it keeps ideas flowing.. who knows you might suddenly think of some cool topic to write about..

This tag is about perfects and imperfections... Let's first look at my imperfections.. I like to have the bad news first before the good ones because knowing the positive might be able to overcome, overlap or balance up the negativity...

I'm listing 3 each.. so here goes..

Firstly, I have crooked pinky toes.. they look something like this...

See the pinky toe is crooked inwards.. it may not seem like a big thing to you but it really bothers me when I'm wearing heels or shoes with a narrow front.. as you can see, the pinky toe is crooked inwards so the "body" of the toe faces out, means  if you wear heels or shoes with a narrow front for too long, or if you walk too much, the "body" of the toe will rub against the side of your shoe or heels causing friction that will be very painful and also cause blisters which are very uncomfortable, especially when you can't take off your shoes...

Secondly, I have really fat thighs that I have been complaining all my life...

and fat thighs are prone to cellulite.. well, fat thighs are not something very nice to look at to start with... and i have a decent length of legs which I would love to show off it it wasn't this fat... and a lot of my jeans will fit nicely on the waist but it will be super tight on the thigh and hip area.. especially when you are sitting down.. my skinny jeans felt like they are gonna burst anytime...

Last but not least, I can't draw to save my life...

This includes matching colours, styling and many other things that requires art sense.. I guess that's just a handicap.. I used to aspire to be an artist, which seems like a huge joke now realising that my drawing skills aren't even elementary level.. well, that was because I used to.. erm.. actually I still do.. enjoy Art Attack by Neil Buchanan... If you know about Art Attack.. Neil is really an amazing artist.. he could create art out of anything, literally speaking... so seeing him do so many amazing things really inspire you to be like him.. however, i have accepted the fact that I can't draw at all.. if you see nice pictures "drawn" by me, those are most probably traced.. hehehe...

Ok, now we'll move to the perfect stuff.. but these are just things that I am happy and satisfied about myself.. not that I am saying that it is perfect or something...

Number 1, despite my handicap in drawing.. I am quite good with words and writing..

and it's something i really enjoy doing... i started writing my own stories since I was 10.. I used to watch TVB dramas and try to add a character in, just to put myself into the story.. for fun's sake though... self amusement.. I have been quite proud of the ideas i have produced.. although a majority of them are not complete YET but I am really passionate about writing.. and will never stop writing...

Number 2, I am quite satisfied with my height now... although I complained before that I am not tall enough.. but many people who look at me will think that I am taller than I actually am.. which is nice, in a way that I look tall to balance up the fact that I am not tall enough..
I am 5'5...

Number 3, I am quite satisfied with my skin colour.. it is slightly on the fair side..

although I am always looking for ways to be fairer but even if i could not go any fairer, i am happy to accept my current skin colour.. I guess this is due to the fact that i stay indoors alot, i hardly go outdoors out in the sun, so i think that's why i could maintain my skin colour to the fairer side... oh well, i enjoy staying indoors anyway.. so no complaints..

So that's all for my perfect imperfections.. i might do another tag if i manage to find one that is interesting...

till then

121212

Nothing special happened, just a post to mark this special day.. I am not saying that it's once in a lifetime because, tell me, which day isn't once in a life time? Have you lived through February the 12th 2012 twice?? Nope~~ That's just a random date, nothing special happened either either..

However, it is the last time of the century that you will ever see a day where the day, month and year is the same number.. Unfortunately 12 marks the last month of our calender so unless somebody could convince the world with a 13th month, there's no way I'll be live to see the next 121212...

I saw people posting 12 random facts about themselves throughout the day to commemorate the palindrome that is today's date 121212.... Oh, big words I've used there, huh??commemorate means celebrate and palindrome is some sort of a symbol? I guess... Fine, I admit I copied and pasted that sentence..

Anyway, I'll give my 12 random facts..

#12 I should have gone to sleep by now.

#11 I can't go through a day without writing something, it could be anything... I just need to have a writing tool and a piece of paper to write on or else my day will not seem complete..

#10 I don't fancy sweets but I love chocolates..

#9 I share what I want to share with who I want to share with when I want to share... So please don't keep pestering me about something that I didn't to tell you even after you asked... it simply means that I don't want you to know..

#8 I plan to get out of the country once every year...

#7 I always make sure that I have a spare before using something. If I don't, I'll buy a spare first.

#6 I have just passed my Topik (Korean Proficiency Exam) with 91%!! (Sorry, I just have to brag.. (91% never happen often in my life~~)

#5 I'm now learning how to bake.. I baked a chocolate cake with my mom a while ago and will try to bake another one with my sister after she's back from Kampar...

#4 I have an unexplainable dislike towards perfectionists... Not sure why...

#3 This week is a very busy week at work. It's killing me!!

#2 I can balance myself on an exercise ball, hands off.. I call that a talent..

#1 I'm making a wish.... If my wish comes true before my coming birthday, I'll donate RM100 to charity...

Alright... That's all folks.. This post is written merely to  mark today's date...

BBW

Hey there....  it's 1pm and I just woke up.. It's the Big Bad Wolf season of the year.. For those who are not aware, it's a book sales with 3 million titles selling at 75%-95% discount.. So calling out to all book lovers with a certain level of patience.. why?? because the waiting could kill..

This sale is held every year and this year, it's at MIECC.. and it'll be on till 23rd December.. So, do drop by if you're interested.. I haven't been to any of the previous sales because I'm a part time book lover now.. I used to love reading but I guess this happens to many, after the internet came barging into our lives, books seem to not play such an important role as it used to be... but i still do read... like my harry potter series for a gazillion times (If you follow all my blogs you'll know why) just maybe not as often as the old times...

So....

The sole reason why I decided to go this year is because of this..

The Grand opening will be on for 63 hours non stop.. So I thought if i were to go at odd hours, i might be able to avoid the major crowds... So I decided to go at 2am and started asking if there were anybody who would be my partner in crime for this midnight-book-hunt... However, it's either I don't have many friends who love reading or my friends are all early-dozers... Okay then, to be fair, there were a few who were interested but they weren't keen on the time.. So I changed my initial time to 11pm and... my cousin replied but she was not interested in english books so in the end, my partner in crime is......

Jackwaddles.. because I couldn't find anyone on Facebook to go with me... hahahaha...

Ok, I was kidding... I dragged my brother and mami along.. with the help of my GPS we headed over to Mines at 11.20pm and reached at 12.35am~~ the jam outside the exhibition hall towards the parking was terrible.. even during this hour... and I thought there was quite a few reports saying that Malaysians don't read... Those who wrote the reports have certainly not been to a Big Bad Wolf sale... it may appear as the shock of your life~

Anyway.. at least there weren't a queue outside the hall.. I was actually looking for "Mini Shopaholic" and "Twenties Girl" by Sophie Kinsella, "America's Next Model -- Strike a Pose" by Taryn Bell... but there's weren't any to be found.. and in the end i still spent rm150 on other titles that were not in my list..

These were my mami's choices... the 2 dictionaries below are meant to be for the family.. erm.. maybe not the one on the left, that investment, finance thingy was for my sista.. not sure if she even needs it but it's finance stuff.. i guess it should be useful... oh well, it was rm10~~~

Well, Old Trafford.. these were my bro's...

 And here comes mine...

I pick titles that interests me.. and the gossip girl on the top left was the only title that was on my list.. and there was only one... I could actually bring the whole series back home.. There were The Vampire Diaries too but I google-d and found out that it was different from the series and after reading the synopsis, i prefer the series more so i didnt spend much time hunting for it coz i only saw 1 book here and there not the whole heap.. oh well...

Titles from Candace Bushnell... the author of Sex and the City.. yes, i always fall for movie titles... and they were hard covers and it's pretty... the aunty in me says that hard cover for rm8 is really a must grab..
Oh oh oh... The Incredibles comic.. I bought it because of Jack Jack..

Remember I mentioned that you need to have a certain level of patience to endure... because...

The queue to pay was 2 hours long!!!! and people actually bought boxes and boxes of books.. boxes and boxes of books on a trolley or in a trolley bag (the ones you bring for holidays).. so i really doubt those reports saying Malaysians don't read enough.. please explain this~~ all these people who bought boxes and trolleys of book can't be buying them for decoration purposes, right?? and I thought people will not sacrifice their sleep for books.. it turns out that I was wrong!!! Malaysians are passionate about books...

That's all I have to say, folks...

Macau-Hong Kong Birthday Trip Day 3 -Part 2-

Alright, back to my travel posts, which basically are the fatal lifelines of my blog.. they currently are the main thing that keeps my blog alive..

As I have mentioned in my previous post, my camera decided to die on me right after the parade ended (The following photos are all from hp's camera... thank god she charged hers the night before...) Well, a good thing it did too since hp and me were separated by the crowd I do need a camera for photos from my angle of view.. but we reunited soon after the parade and continue our journey..

And, we met Stitch... who coincidentally was wandering around the Land... there was no queue so we quickly grabbed our chances for photos!!!

After this we grabbed a bite of hotdog... No photos here because we were busy biting as we were rushing for the next show... they were super thoughtful, and even provide us with plastic disposable gloves so that we will not dirty our hands while munching hotdogs..

Then, we head off to watch Golden Mickey.. It was a bout a reporter in an awards event for Disney.. presenting awards and interviewing the winners..

After that, we head off to the next show.. a 3D one...

And then, we watched Lion King...

That was the last show we watched... we were so keen to catch every show that we actually missed the Toy Story land... as it was closed for the fireworks session.. Sigh~~

The castle looks very pretty at night with the lights... adds a dreamy fantasy effect to the whole thing..

Before the fireworks, we wandered into the gift shop again... The stuff there are too expensive to afford.. so.. I went back empty handed..

hp said that this... what's his name?? Lakso!! (What the heck Lakso??? I must be craving Kelantan Lakso here... It's Lotso!!) yeah, Lotso's colour goes well with my jacket..

Then, the legendary fireworks started... The first time I ever got to watch the disney fireworks on TV was in Full House with Bob Saget and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.. They had an episode where they spent the day in Disneyland... and this is the first time I ever saw it LIVE in front of me...

The crowd dissolving after the fireworks...

And so, we head to the museum.. where I finally found my favourite Disney animation of all times!!!

THE INCREDIBLES!!!

There weren't anything about The Incredibles in the souvenir shops anywhere... which saved me a few bucks.. Good thing I found them here... These are the artworks and sketches of the animation..

See that round orange thing on the top left of the picture... that's Jack Jack!!!

My favourite character of all times!!! Jack-Jack Parr...

After saying goodbye to Jack-Jack... It's almost to time say the same thing to Disneyland...

Ahhhhh.... Leaving here marks the end of a magical journey.. But!!! I WILL BE BACK!!

Boarding the train at the station...

This time, our compartment had Mickey and Tinkerbell...

Goodbye!!!

On our way back to our hotel.. there was a streetdance performance on Nathan Road...

The girl was pulled out randomly to join the dance...

And that marks the end of my 3rd day here...

Until we meet again~~
